Why Sound Reduction Matters for Airgun Shooters

Shooting an air rifle in your backyard? Then you’ve probably wondered if an air gun suppressor is worth it. The answer is yes, especially if you live in a neighborhood where noise draws attention.

Even though airguns are quieter than firearms, a high-powered PCP model or a Daisy Powerline can still make a sharp “pop.” Adding a Daisy Powerline suppressor won’t make your gun silent, but it cuts down the muzzle blast enough to make a big difference.

Suppressors reduce noise by slowing and redirecting the air as it exits the barrel. The best results happen when you pair a correctly threaded suppressor with a compatible airgun. That’s where most issues come from, not the suppressor itself, but poor fit.

If you shoot often and don’t want to bother the neighbors (or alert nearby animals during pest control), a good air gun suppressor improves the experience. Just make sure your setup supports it. A Daisy Powerline suppressor, when used on a compatible model, is a good starting point.
